General information

  • Spectator Fee: $10 per person
  • Please find the dressing room signed with Starz on Stage on arrival. You can ask where it is as you walk in on arrival.
  • Due to child protection laws there is to be NO dressing in the hall. You are welcome to set up your duffels, racks, bags, etc. around the hall but we ask that you please change in the dressing rooms either side of the stage or in the toilets (please don’t set up in the toilets)

Video and photography

  • James Beggs Imaging will be present at both days of our event. All dances are photographed, but pre-ordering is preferred. To do this please keep an eye out on social media for further instructions. You may also visit James’s desk on the day to find the qr code to order your images.

Parking:

  • Parking is available on school grounds via the main gates on the right hand side closes to the hall. When there are no more avaliable spots there is plenty of street parking around, just please make sure you read the street sighs. Lakeside Dance Challenge is not responsible in any way for any parking fine you receive during your time at the event.

Awards:

  • Our adjudications are announced in a full awards ceremony at the end of each session. This is clearly outlined in the program and you are also given an estimated time that each awards session will commence. You must be present for awards to receive your places and prizes.
  • All major award winners are announced in the awards sessions at the end of each each group as well. All awards are picked by our judge or by a point scoring system. We endeavour for as many people to leave the competition with something that recognises their efforts, but sometimes this is not feasible for everyone, but we try our absolute best to ensure everyone has something.

Impros Section

Our Improvisation sections are free to enter on the day. All dancers from each age group will go on stage together.

They will be rotated to different parts of the stage so they all get a turn being at or close to the front. They will be given a piece of music they need to dance to on the spot, they do not listen first. The music will play for 45-60secs before they move and are given the next piece of music. After the 2 impros have been completed they will exit the stage and get ready for awards. The impro champion of each age group will be announced during awards. There is only one winner in each age division. Dancers can wear any dance wear they choose - just no bling.
